Last months minutes were read and approved. From those minutes under old business a discussion was brought back from the table on the subject of the Museum that apparently was started a few years back. Motion was made and 2nd to STOP all actions on a Museum at this time and discontinue any further actions on the development of said Museum. Approved and Effective 08-06-2011.
Mermaid Festival booth and Parade float report was given.
This seemed to be a worth while project that did raise a lot of interest in the restoration of antique and vintage snowmobiles. We were amazed of the large number of sleds that have been taken to scrappers over the past few years. Numerous people commented that had they known about our group they would have much rather donated the sleds to be restored.
We as a group have a mission to help educate the public of the existence of our fine organization and the good that can come of preserving the past, one sled at a time.
Our banners will be made available along with any sleds we can spare to help you promote the word in your area of the country. Special Thanks to Richard and Jeff for manning the booth every day and night. J And to the Ducey’s for the Parade Float. J

Website discussion was next on the menu. Richard Mitchell gave a report on the site up to date. Ed Jones has stepped up to the plate and decided to take on the challenge of running the website. I will check with Jim and PJ to get all passwords to help Ed out. ( at this time I am with the understanding that we now have those passwords)? Ed has a lot of interesting things to list on the site to help keep the public checking back to see what is next. GO ED!! J Thank You Ed. J

It was also mentioned that since the past elections that Jen Ducey has declined the position as club Secretary due to work responsibilities. With this in mind IVSA member John McGuirk has stepped up and will fill that space for the remainder of the season. Thanks John. J

Conversation then turned to the Pay-pal option of paying for your due’s on line. We have received a notice of two pending memberships but not to sure as to who they were for. We are currently looking into this for further clarification. We have had one person this year contact us with verification of Pay-pal charging his credit card, but we have had no record of ever receiving it from them. We are currently following up on this also.

Now for the Great news. We had around 19 show sleds attend the Annual Bronson White Star Auction and Show this past August 6th. Scott provided us with a great air conditioned room and assisted us in any of our needs for the vintage show. A Thank You Letter will be sent to him and his staff for their continued support of our Group.
After the show on Saturday the 6th three members (John McQuirk, Richard Mitchell, and Jeff Corn then proceeded to load their sleds and head further north up to Hope, Michigan to attend the Erskine Marine Show and Swap on Sunday August the 7th, 2011.
This was Richards and Jeff’s first trip up there and to tell you the truth it will not be the last. There was a large turn out of show sleds and a large number of swap vendors there in support of this really great event. John sold 1 and I bought one. Sorry Dear. :P Just one more OMC in the barn.
A great time was had by all in attendance. Also, making an appearance at the show in person was member Ed Jones and Family. So the Indiana Group got mentioned several times on the PA system. And I think we did really well in the prize area also.
Richard Mitchell took home a trophy almost taller than he was. Oh, and not to mention $50.00 cash to boot. You will have to ask him about his adventure next time you cross paths with him.

CONGRATUATIONS RICHARD!! JJ JJ

Next event for our club will be the show in Toledo, Ohio on September 17, 2011. We are a featured club on their flyer so I would hope that WE ALL will try to take at least 1 or 2 sleds to show in support of their first show and swap meet. For further info Please Contact Ed Jones with any and all questions you might have. Thank You and Hope to see you there.

On December 3 & 4, 2011 will be the ISA Snowmobile Show held in Valparaiso, Indiana. They are reserving a large space inside the Porter County Fair & Exposition Center for our Vintage Group to display some of our Vintage Sleds.
This is yet another chance for our club to shine and help educate the public to the need to “Bring Old Sleds To New Snow”. Or, to donate them to a club member, to restore, and haul to other show’s. Any takers? (me). J
Reminder ..Club Dues are past do, so Please send them in!
