
2010 Inductions into the Indiana Snowmobiling Hall of Fame.
Prior to announcing the 2010 Inductees, Dick Squiers recognized the Charter Members of the Hall of Fame who were in attendance, Dick Mitchell and Pete Harris. He also recognized Don Cawthon, a Charter Member who passed away this past year. Squiers then announced this year's Hall of Fame Inductees. They are: Chuck Litchfield, one of the Founders of the Hoagland Blizzard Blazers and a diligent worker for trail development in Indiana. Chuck has been a tireless supporter of the sport of Snowmobiling and involved his whole family in promoting trail development and Snowmobiling in general.
The second recipient of the Award was Vern Schnelker. Vern is well known by many through his family's business, Schnelker Marine, a longime and leading snowmobile dealer in the State of Indiana. Vern was active in racing and he and his wifehave been strong supporters of trail development and actively worked with various clubs to promote the sport of snowmobiling. The third inductee was Don Amber. Don is a Past President of the ISA and was very active in racing. He participated in the Winnipeg to St. Paul Iron Man Classic on multiple occasions and became a factory rider for John Deere. He remains a dedicated JD restorer and enthusiast. The final award was presented by Max Buell and went to IVSA Founding President, Dick Squiers. Dick is a Past President of the ISA and President of the ISA Past Presidents Club. He conducted snowmobile tours for years - one of which, to Hearst, Ontario, was enjoyed greatly by yours truly and friends, and was where I first met him. Dick was honored by Gov. Robert Orr with a Sagamore of the Wabash for his contribution to snowmobiling in Indiana. Each Inductee receives an individual plaque and will have their name added to the permanent plaque, recognizing all members of the Indiana Snowmobiling Hall of Fame.
